First off, congrats on the Vans hookup! How did that come about? 

My Dad was on the Vans team so it’s been a long time that Vans have helped me. Last year I won Simple Session Best Trick, and after that I was traveling more than ever and I think that Vans saw it, and Alex Valentino called my Dad and said that Vans Europe wanted me on the Pro team. When my Dad told me I was really happy. I’m super hyped to be on the Vans team now, it’s really cool to have them support me. 

How’s things going? How’s 2026 been so far for you?

2026 has been super good - I had really good events like Swatch Nines and the Redbull Trickschmiede. Those events were incredible and I had some trips too, so yeah, the beginning of 2026 was great. 

How did the filming for your Vans video go? Was everything smooth?

The filming of the video went good. I filmed it in Barcelona with Will Chappell. Yeah everything was smooth, I didn’t have any injuries filming this part and I did got like six clips every day I think, so that was pretty good haha.   

What's an average day in the life of Sasha Cambon like? 

If I’m on holiday - I wake up, go to the gym, eating, riding and drawing when I have free time. Not everyday is like this though, some times I’m doing other stuff like snowboarding, or chilling at the river, but I spend most of my time on the bike with friends and my dad . 

Have you finished all studies/school or do you plan to do more?

I didn’t finish school yet - I still have two years left. After that I will try to travel a lot and, I hope, be able to live as a BMX rider. 

What are the three most important things in your life?

The three most important things in my life are my family (my dog counts haha) cause I do everything with them and you know family is the most important. BMX is one of the most important. My life is based on BMX and I can’t live without it. Friends are super important too. Just having fun with my friends is amazing and they push me to do my best. I push them and I meet new friends every time I travel.

If you could change one thing about BMX, what would it be?

If I could change one thing in BMX, it would be that we go back to BMX FREESTYLE. Everyone rides everything, and isn't just a park rider, a street rider… I want BMX to move back to freestyle!

What was it like having your Dad there for the filming of the video? Do you travel a lot together?

Having my Dad with me for the filming of the video was so cool. I love having him with me when I’m riding. Being together is a motivation for me and for him too. I travel a lot with him, everywhere I go he comes with me and everywhere he goes I come with him haha.

What’s are the pros and cons of having a BMX dad?

There are a lot of advantages having a BMX Dad. He understands when I’m traveling, he lets me travel and go to events. It’s the best thing riding with my Dad, he taught me so much. Not just about tricks but also about the BMX mentality too. So there are only advantages of having a BMX dad and spending a lot of time with him.

How is the French BMX scene these days?

The French BMX scene is super cool. There are a lot of good riders and I think that everyone is kind of friends, so there is a good atmosphere in the French BMX scene. Keeping things moving in the French BMX scene, you have people like Robin Bourhis that is making a DVD of the whole French BMX scene (Intercite), that will be crazy.

You like to ride a bit of everything, park, street etc… Is that a conscious decision, or just natural?

To be fair that’s just natural - I like riding both. Some people think that I ride more street but no, I ride a lot of bowl, park, trails, maybe more than street . But I need to ride park too cause I need to learn tricks and then I go land it in street.

What are you most excited for over the rest of 2026?

For the rest of 2026 I was super hyped about the Battle Of Hasting but it’s been cancelled now, so that’s sad, but I have Simple Session, it’ll be super cool. I also have an event in my town (Albicyclette) from the 28th to the 30th of August in Albi. So, I don’t have a lot of things for the rest of the year but I hope some trips will happen too.

What can we expect from you and Vans coming up in the future?

For me and Vans , I think we can expect a lot of projects with them (trips, part video, events). I’ll try to do a lot with them .
